Stand Firm – Be Still

Stand firm. Be still. Two phrases that seem to require supernatural faith.

Over six hundred chariots were approaching from behind. The best of the best in terms of warfare rapidly approached those without defense. Fear cascaded among the Israelites while the enemy was emboldened.

To the Israelites, a roadblock of epic proportions lay ahead while thunderous hoofbeats of the enemy echoed behind. To a casual observer, if such a thing is possible, the day was done – the enemy had the upper hand. However.

Notice, there is usually a “however” in a miracle.

They were trapped, however freedom was waiting.

The pillar leading them moved upward, however it moved behind – protecting.

Water blocked the way, however one step forward revealed a mighty power.

During all of the commotion they only had to be still, to stand firm. Not run. Not flee. Not panic.

Resist the urge to focus upon the enemy, focus your eyes forward – keep your focus upon the Heavenly Redeemer.

It is in this moment of focus, that moment of stillness, in which you will see the water part. A parting of the water creating a path to move forward. Gaze intently ahead to see it, for on the other side, a new day begins.

Breath. Be Still. Be firm.

If you are a visual person like me, gleaming a sense of where the Exodus crossing occurred greatly aids in understanding. My family watched the below “new-to-us” video recently and it was very illuminating.*

Around the 20:42 timestamp the Red Sea is featured.

The pillar of fire is discussed around 21:07.

In case “the powers that be” remove the above video, an alternative link can be found on Bitchute.

*Around 22:00 a rock is broken on the shoreline which sent shudders of terror though this geo-lovin’ family. You could hear a gasp of “did he just do that?!” fill the room. I know, we tend to be sensitive folk.
