Focus
The arch enemy of distraction.
Focus controls distraction. Distraction destroys focus.
Distraction’s Wicked Ways
Distraction loves it when laundry piles up, dust clings to everything and the neighbor’s lawn mower roars reminding you that your yard is..well…just sad. However, Distraction is at its best when the hamster will not STOP running in her wheel.
As the wheel is turning, your mind plays games with you. Distraction rejoices. Why else would you search for 10 minutes for the pencil that’s behind you ear, stand in front of the refrigerator while wondering how you got there or clean the kitchen cabinet because you know that’s where you hid the Reese’s Cups.
Join Forces with Focus
A battle is brewing. I declare we join forces with Focus. Toss Distraction out. Show it the door!
Distracted learning yields missed opportunities. The battle is too important to not jump in without two pencils behind our ears.
Let Your Battle Cry Be Heard
Stand at the battle line with me, raise your banner and shout-
- No more distractions! I will fight the laundry monster and win!
- I will use the pencil behind my ear and write down what I need to do!
- I will do what I write down!
- I will find time and peace in my day for intentional focus!
- I will plan!
Oh, I see Distraction shaking in its shoes. Focus is winning!
Every day Focus and Distraction enter the battle field. It’s up to us to get on that field and fight for Focus. It’s up to us to change our strategies as needed, be smart and keep a fresh box of pencils nearby. Now let’s go focus!!
